We are the PhotogenX Around the World Track 2012/2013, a group of 9 passionately in love with the Lord. We joined the Track to raise awareness for injustice and to use our gift of photography to bring change. We travelled to 13 countries around the world and met countless people caught up in lives of suffering and despair. As a group we want to help break the cycle and bring the hope of the Lord in these situations. To raise awareness we created and published a book, Tainted: A Lost Innocence, a book dedicated to the children we met this year. Here is an excerpt from the book!

Of all the people we encountered on our year-long adventure, children impacted our lives the most. We recognized that these children’s lives were tainted. Their situations tainted with suffering; their existence tainted with hopelessness.
Individuals in the past had made choices leading to this place of suffering and entrapment, leaving them helpless, neglected, and in need of love.
Can our decisions, filled with love, speak louder than the choices of generations past? Can that love change the lives of these children, bring them hope, and break the cycle of destruction?
Children are the hope for tomorrow and our responsibility for today.

To spread the word and raise awareness we will be touring parts of Alberta, British Columbia, Washington, Idaho and Oregon. The tour will last from July 5th, 2013 until August 19th, 2013.

All profits from the sale of our books during this tour will go towards two different organizations we partnered with during our travels. Half of the money will benefit Treasure House, an organization that serves children living in the slums of Delhi, India, providing them with food, clothing, education, and hygiene. Funds given to this organization will serve to build their second location, enabling them to serve more children. The other half of the money will aid The Nest in Pogradec, Albania. Focusing predominantly on Roma gypsies, this organization provides basic needs, temporary housing, and education for the disadvantaged children of their neighborhood. The funds will finance the purchase of the building they are currently renting, empowering them to further their current programs.
